How this Compustar Dealer Creates Community

This month at Compustar we’re taking some time to celebrate Small Business. We’re lucky to have thousands of small business partners across North America, each with their own unique story.

To kick off this Small Business Month, we had the opportunity to speak with Megan Melum, the Marketing Manager for Precision Cellular & Sound in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. We started by asking Megan what their business wants to communicate to their local community, and here’s what she said:

We want to communicate to the shoppers that we are here for them. We try to make it feasible for everyone to have a remote starter because it’s a safety tool as well as a luxury.

Precision Cellular & Sound has built their business around providing quality installation and customer service. Because of the relationships they foster with each and every customer, and the open door policy of their shop before, during, and after installation, Precision Cellular & Sound just as much a community center as it is a remote start dealer.

“Precision Cellular & Sound is so much more than a retail store. It’s like we’re “the cool mom” and the community comes here to get advice, troubleshoot a problem, or some days even just hang out to see the latest products in stock. We treat everyone as though they are family. Our company won’t just tell you we deliver the best experience possible, we show it in every interaction that we have with our customers.”

Megan shared the number one goal of Precision Cellular & Sound is to make remote start accessible for as many people as possible. One of the ways they do this is by offering quality customer service which strives to be available 24/7 for their customers.

“We make sure we’re there when they need us. We don’t charge for a service call or make our customers sign a contract for a future service commitment.We have our customers call and talk to a live person every time – even after hours, we are on standby. We have a live chat on our website and our social media accounts to help with questions, concerns, or book appointments.”

After you make a purchase, the Precision Cellular & Sound team will continue to take care of you. The team has an open-door policy for any questions customers might have.

“We make sure that even after the sale is made that our customers are 100% satisfied with their products and that their questions are all answered. We want all of our customers feeling confident that they are getting the best price and the best product for their needs.”

In addition to providing the best customer service possible, Precision Cellular & Sound also partners with many different non-profit organizations within Stevens Point. Each year, they do a coat drive with Operation Bootstrap and a food drive with Operation Stuff the Backpack.

In 2019, they collected over 200 coats and have already collected 20 coats since November 1st of this year. A unique aspect of their coat drive is that they allow children in need from local schools to come in and select their own coat.

Twice a year, they participate in Operation Stuff the Backpack which sends children suffering with food insecurity home with a backpack full of food for the weekend.

These food and coat drives directly benefit the community of Stevens Point by filling the needs of some of the most vulnerable community members. Plus, the discount offered in exchange for a donation makes purchasing a remote starter a viable option for more people.
