Comp car remote

Sometimes I can be standing right in front of my truck and it won't connect or start and I may have to do it a few times before it does connect. Or I can be in the house and hit the remote and I think that its running and its not, I can't understand it I wish I would of just invested in the next model the 2 way that let's you know that it's running!!
